Hi,

We have a question about the datasheet of the device. Is "Current limit threshold" a high-side FET current?

We also would like to know if there are similar devices with HS-FET current limit. Our requirements are:

Vin = 5V
Vout = 1V
Typical output ≧ 5A
Fixed HS-FET current limit ≦8A

Hi,

Yes, the current limit limits the peak current in the high side FET.

Does TPS54519 meet your needs?

The TPS62865/7 is a newer, smaller device with a more accurate current limit.

Hi Chris,

Thank you for the answer and suggestion. Yes, TPS54519 does meets our requirements. Unfortunately TPS62865/7 do not meet our requirements of either current output or HS-FET current limit.
