TPS92691-Q1: Switching transistor and diode keep buring

I've been working on a design using this LED driver (albeit, we're using it with a laser diode) for a couple days. Please see the schematic below.

Without going into too many details, we found that the voltage at IS was reaching 2.35 V. See the screenshot below. Of course, 2.35 V > 525 mV, so IS would shut down switching. This also means that nearly 10 A was passing through R10.

It appears as though the current was coming exclusively from the energy stored in the inductor. See the screenshot below, which shows the voltage on either side of the inductor.
