LM61460: LM61460 design as negative output

Hi team,

Customer would like to design 12V input and -5.5V(6A) output. Can we use LM61460 to design it? Is there a reference schematic? Thanks!

Hi Alex,

Please refer to the IBB app note and follow the operating considerations in Section 4.

Converting from buck to IBB results in higher peak inductor current which will limit the overall DC load capability.

In the case where you need -5.5V|6A, you may want to switch to the LM61495 (10A) device.
