I am looking at designing a 1 cell lithium ion battery charger that can be charged from either a solar panel or a standard USB port (charge current under 1A).
I am looking at the BQ24650 as the solar charger and was wondering if it would be possible to use a USB charging device as well on the same battery (ie. both chargers connected to the battery but only one operating at a time)
Only one or the other charger would operate at a time and I was wondering if this scenario could be used if one or the other charger was disabled?
If possible I would like the USB charger to take preference and disable the solar charger when VBUS was present.
Is there a better way of achieving this?
It would be ideal to only use one charger and I have looked at the BQ24166 device which appears to do this but am a bit unsure on its use with a solar panel.
