HI,

I am using BQ25672 IC for power charging, I am using two inputs so I have put mosfats but the gate is not turning on. The gate is connected to the ACDRV in the EVM board but there is no voltage to the gate. Should I supply the voltage to the ACDRV pin and where is the voltage not given to the ACDRV in the EVM board? Please help me.

Hi Syam,

The VACx lines need to sense the applied input voltage on the input side of the FETs in order for the ACDRVx pins to turn on.

et me know one thing.Both inputs should be turned on at once Or just turn on one after the other.I am checking by giving only one input.

Hi Syam,

Only one at a time with ACDRV1 having precedence if both are valid and applied at the same time.

But even in the internal, there is no connection between vcx and acdrv1x, and how can it be sensed?

Hi Syam,

I don't understand the question. VACx directly connects to the input port/pin and sensing when it is attached. Then it provides power to the charge pump that drives the ACDRVx outputs.

Hi Syam,

You can connect VACx directly to the input port/line or connect to it through a 0 ohm resistor.

Hi Jeff,

This is my schematic, but here acdrc1 is not getting voltage, I also tested the ra ic and it is also not getting voltage. If the acdrv pin is connected directly to vacx, the voltage is increasing. Any suggestion how to fix this

HI Syam,

ACDRx must be connected to the ACDRx pins on the IC. If you are using the EVM, use the shunts on the jumpers below to short pins 1 and 2.

HI Syam,

First, remove all power including battery from your board. Then reattach the battery and if you have a valid power supply voltage (>UVLO but <OVP) applied that VACx is sensing, then ACDRx should come up to ~5V higher than the applied voltage sensed at VACx. If not, the IC is damaged.

Hi Jeff,

I have not put a battery in the output, I am giving the voltage from the power supply in the input, I am measuring it with a multimeter in the output. The IC is fine.
If I give external supply to ACDRV it works

HI Saym,

If you applied an external voltage to ACDRVx, those pins are likely damaged. They are not designed to have external voltage applied to them. You can still use the EVM by shorting across the input FETs and using the jumper above to short ACDRVx pins to ground. But only short those pins to ground when no power is applied to the IC.

Hi Jeff,

I have developed three boards and all three boards are facing the same problem.

Is there anything external to do configuration of the ACDRV pins .without using I2C

Syam,

No. The ACDRVx pins can be grounded, which disables the input MUX or connected to the FET gates.

If you mean can the charger charge a battery without I2C, yes using the default values.
