REF2041: turn on/off time

Part Number: REF2041

Hi,

REF2041 datasheet provides a turn on time of 500us.

(1) 500us is referring to the rise time to reach 99.9% with Cload=1uF, correct?

(2) is there a propagation delay between EN and Vref/Vbias? Or if the 500us already included that somehow? Like 500us is the time measurement from10% of EN to 99.9% of Vref/Vbias?

(3) can you provide the same info for turn off time?

Thanks for the help in advance.

  • Hi Kyson

My response is in red -

    (1) 500us is referring to the rise time to reach 99.9% with Cload=1uF, correct?

    Yes this is correct

    (2) is there a propagation delay between EN and Vref/Vbias? Or if the 500us already included that somehow? Like 500us is the time measurement from10% of EN to 99.9% of Vref/Vbias?

VIN and EN are ramped together for the spec

    (3) can you provide the same info for turn off time?

The internal node gets highZ and turn off time depndes on the cap discharging.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Do you have the timing info on how long it takes for the internal nodes to become high-Z after EN ramps down?

  • Kyson

Off time will depnd a lot on the output connection. We dont publish the number as we do all the test with output open.

Can you please expalin why off time is critical for your application ?

  • There is a power down sequence that we have to follow, and we would like to evaluate if controlling EN pin is sufficient or if additional hardware must be added.
