TPS2595: Permanent fault in back-to-back configuration

Part Number: TPS2595

Hi,

I am using two eFuses TPS259570DSG in a back-to-back configuration (see schematic) to disconnect a 2s Li-Ion from the system when needed (shipping mode, UVLO, overcurrent and thermal protection). It works great so far, however I noticed, that the FLT pin of  U29 (BAT_FLT_B) shows a permanent fault (logic low) during normal operation and I can't figure out why. Both devices are enabled (EFUSE_EN logic high) and the fault occurs permanently regardless of the current direction.

Do you have any idea what could cause such a behaviour? I already crossed out a thermal and overcurrent fault.

I also noticed that in your respective application note SLVA948, the eFuses are connected in a common-drain configuration in the example, whereas I connected them in a common-source configuration. Are there any advantages in using the common-drain configuration?

Thanks and best regards

Franz
