TPS6594-Q1: Watchdog interface

The PMIC documentation mentions that there is I2C1 and I2C2 available on the device. Can either one be used as the interface to perform the external watchdog function for the TDA4 SOC? If either can be used as a watchdog interface, Would it be possible to not use one of the I2C interfaces at all and only use the other for configuration and watchdog purposes or would this violate some FFI requirements?

Also is it possible to configure the watchdog and perform the watchdog check only through one of the two I2Cs?

Only I2C2 can be used for watchdog Q&A mode interface. I2C1 is for regular communication with the PMIC. Systems using Watchdog feature can not combine the two bus lines.

Hello Indu,

I misspoke. It IS possible to combine communication onto I2C1. However the processor will have to manage communication to the PMIC such as to not interfere with the Q&A mode windows.
