TPS63900: Question about TPS63900

Part Number: TPS63900
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS63901

Hello:

DCDCs are generally equipped with post stage output filtering, TPS63900. For this type of power supply, is there a design reference circuit for output filtering, and how to handle post stage filtering? This section is not introduced on the official website

In addition, my client is evaluating TPS63900 and TPS63901. What are the biggest differences between TPS63900 and TPS63901, and apart from the two different packages, what are the specific differences? Many indicators are not clearly written

Thanks!!!

  • Hi Jimmy,

    TPS63900 is a buck-boost converter.

For buck topology, the output side has a L, C filter after the switching block. For boost topology, the inductor is at input side.

The buck-boost topology is a combination of buck converter + Boost converter, so Vout pin only has output capacitor.

The difference between TPS63900 and TPS63901 is mainly the package.

Other difference is: TPS63900 Rdson is little bit bigger than TPS63901.
