On our project, we would like to program the BQ27427 in the factory with TBD settings to accurately fuel gauge our battery. We can not guarantee at any point in time the battery will not be removed from our system and thus power is removed from the BQ27427. When the BQ27427 is updated at the factory, are all of the custom settings maintained in non volatile storage (ROM) so that the BQ27427 need not be programmed again with the custom settings

Hi Shirish. Thank you for the quick response. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if I understand correctly, what you're saying is that every boot up sequence from our micro-controller, to ensure the BQ27427 has the correct battery parameters, the firmware has to "re-program" the BQ27427. We (the project) have no guarantee that the battery has died or the battery is being replaced and therefore power may have been lost to the BQ27427

Hello David,

The bq27427 is normally use on the system side gauge. So when the system (microcontroller) is powered, the gauge is also powered. When the system loses power, so does the gauge.

Refer TRM section 2.4.2 POR and INITIALIZATION Modes

On every boot-up the micro-controller should write Data memory parameters.
