BQ25720: BQ25720 stop charging

Hi

The customer design with BQ25720. The battery stop charge during charging.

Charging is stopped probabilistically during the charging process, and the register value is read as follows at the moment of stopping charging.

It can be seen that the VINDPM mode is entered, and the input voltage is read back as 11.1V.

What is the reason for the bq25720 to cause no output?

How to avoid stop charging?

Please help check it.

  • Hi Star,

    I noticed STAT_VDPM was triggered. It is most likely due to limited input supply. Please fix the VINDPM issue, and reset the STAT_VDPM bit. This would bring the charger back to work.

     2、 Is it because the minimum input voltage setting is too high(11.2V) that the VINDPM  mode   is entered。Can it be set to 3.2V?

    1. STAT_VDPM is a status bit, also needs to write zero to get it cleared.

    2. You may disable VINDPM by setting min input voltage to 3.2V.
