LM7310: Turn ON/ OFF LM7130 by a GPIO (3.3V Level)

Hi,

I want to use LM7130 as a Load Switch controlled by a MCU GPIO (3.3V). When turn the GPIO pin high/ low, it should connect/ disconnect the Vout fro VIN. In data sheet its is mentioned that- "In a Host MCU controlled system, EN/UVLO or OVLO can also be driven from the host GPIO to control the device".

But, I am not able to get any reference schematic/ design which showns the application of LM7130 used as a load switch and controlled by a MCU GPIO. Could you please provide me a design reference for my application?

Hi Aakash,

Thanks for reaching out. Reference design is not there. But it should be straightforward implementation of connecting MCU pin directly to device pins.

Hi Kunal,

Thanks for the clarification. Is it like that- I need to use R1, R2 and R3 in my circuit & in junction of R1 and R2 i need to connect the GPIO?

Please correct me if I am doing something wrong.

Hi Kunal,

My GPIO voltage level is 3.3V. So, Can I connect this pin directly to the EN pin as shown in my the previous image? Or Should i need to have a voltage level shifter since the EN pin voltage level is 1.2V as per the datasheet.

Hi Aakash,

EN pin needs voltage above 1.2V to enable device. It can tolerate up to 5V DC. You can connect directly to 3.3V GPIO.
