Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB2ANY, BQ25792
Hi,
May I know this EVM can use USB2ANY to build connection?
I can't link with EVM via USB2ANY. Does is have any other driver need install? thanks!

HI Jeff,
Unfortunately this EVM does not support USB2ANY, I recommend using an Aardvark I2C Adapter and Flash Center software (linked below) to flash the configuration onto the EVM. From the GUI, you can generate a full flash binary which can then be loaded onto Flash Center. I've also included the link for a tutorial video on how to flash the CHG EVM.

Hi Raymond,
thanks for your information.
So seems we need must need Aardvark Adapter this tool to connect with this EVM?
The Aardvark Adapter can apply from TI system?
Or need customer buy from the "totalphase" website?
It seems strange beacuse of TI EVM but need test with other brand test tool?
Thanks!
Jeff
Hi Jeff,
The Aardvark adapter uses standard I2C protocol which can be used with any systems, including TI. In order to flash the correct binary configuration onto the EVM user will need use:
1. Generate full flash binary from GUI
2. Load the full flash binary onto Flash Center GUI (from totalphase)
3. Make sure Aardvark adapter is connected between laptop and EVM
4. Flash the config and power cycle EVM in order for PD to load the new configuration from its EEPROM
The Aardvark adapter can be directly bought from totalphase website.

Hi Raymond,
We have using Aardvark adapter and follow the https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_5rofNa_OA to setup EVM.
Also have install the Flash Center GUI (from totalphase), Aardvark adapter is connected between laptop, and computer device center also show Aardvark adapter device.
And we have provided power from BQ25792 BAT, but seem still stuck at previous screen, can't using GUI found COM port.
Is there any possible to cause this issue? thanks!
Jeff
Hi Jeff,
The GUI does not have the capability to detect and connect with the Aardvark adapter. You will need to set the configuration in the GUI, generate a full flash binary, and then use Flash Center + Aardvark Adapter to flash the binary configuration onto the EVM.
Let me know fi there's any additional questions or concerns, apologies for the inconvenience.
Thanks and Regards,

Hi Raymond,
We can start using EVM to charge battery, but charging current seems incorrect.
We set VCHG=12.6V, ICHG=5A, but we only meansure ICHG=1.9A.
Have check the PD adapter can support to 27W(9V/3A), battery about ~30% capacity, so should in CC mode.
Would you please help check below JSON file setting is correct?
Or please let me know if need more information.
From left to right meter, VCHG=11.84V, Iin=2.785A, ICHG=1.9A
Thanks!
Jeff
Hi Jeff,
Can you capture I2C logs between the PD and BQ part? You can tap onto the 4-pin header J7 as shown in the PDF attached.
