Hi team,
Does this device follow "JASO D 001 type-A: A-1 load dump requirement? Or is ISO7637-2 test corresponding to that certification?
Regards,
Ochi

Hi Praveen,
I found that customer requirement and zener diode spec sheet on the web.

Meet for load dump surge test (JASO D 001-94) [Vp=70 V,τ=200 ms,Ri=0.8 Ω] (page1)
The test waveform of transient voltage which specified JASO Category A A-1 70 V without breakdown (page3)
Does LM74701-Q1 follow "JASO D 001 type-A: A-1 load dump requirement? Or is ISO7637-2 test corresponding to that certification?

Hi Ochi,
Thanks for sharing the JASO D 001-94 test condition details. This test waveform is similar to ISO 16750-2 Pulse 5 Test A – without centralized load dump suppression.
As you can see in the figure above, the peak voltage of the pulse is 70V. The LM74701-Q1 device maximum rating is only 65V and hence the device cannot withstand the ASO D 001-94 (70V) pulse alone. You will have to use an additional TVS at the input to clamp the voltage to less than 65V so that the LM74701-Q1 device does not get damaged.
