TPS60500 - outputting 2.5V not 1.2V

Hi,

I am using TPS60500 (High-Efficiency Step-Down Charge Pump ) for regulating voltage from 3.3V to 1.2V. This 1.2V is used to power the CORE of microcontroller. But i am getting 2.5V instead of 1.2V. (ultimately MPU might have failed because of this, but how i'm getting 1.2V is still uncertain ???). Please help me to resolve this issue.

For you information:

Vin-3.3V, Feed back resistor (R1 - 100k, R2 - 200k).

capacitors value are seleced as per instruction in datasheet.

Note: I've used one more module, in that second module also having same problem.

The units should work fine with your setup above.

Just to make sure that you are using TPS60500, could you please check the marking of the units you are using?

Hello Brigitte,

The device Top side marking for TPS60500 (MSOP package) is 9711 (1st line); AVB (2nd line).

Please Clarify.

You have the correct IC. I agree with Brigitte that your circuit is correct. Is it possible that there is a leakage path within your MPU that causes the 1.2V to be charged up to 2.5V? If you artificially load the CORE rail with an external resistor, does the voltage drop to 1.2V?
