UCC23514: LVDS for Gate Driver

Part Number: UCC23514
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC5310

Hi all,

I'm using the following scheme to provide noise immunity to the drive signal path. The drive signal is quite critical and false triggering must be kept to a minimum.

Is this a appropriate method? Is there a better or more standard way to drive reduce noise for gate drivers? LVDS differential voltage level seems to be quite low (350 - 400mV swing) which could be affected by a very noisy environment?

  • Hi Hac Le,

I don't think the DS90LV027ATMX is necessary. A gate driver is not a 5G modem. You can usually get away with just using a 100 ohm 1nF filter on the input to the UCC23514.

However, you can use a gate driver with a higher voltage input range than 3.3V if you're nervous. UCC5310 can accept a 12V input signal.

    Best regards,

    Sean
