Hello team,

 

For below spec, LM74700-Q1 can be used for high current (Irms = 40A)?

Otherwise, would you please recommend a proper ideal diode?

 

Spec :

   -. Automotive 12V battery power

   -. Irms = 40A

   -. Low Iq (< 100uA)

   -. Load dump & cold cranking

   -. Reverse current protection

   -. Reverse polarity protection

    Hi Sam Lee,

    LM74700-Q1 can drive multiple FETs in parallel without any issue for 40A load current operation. As the total FET Ciss increases, with the controller's charge pump source current strength, the frequency of AC Super imposed signal which  the controller can rectify reduces. 

    In case you want higher AC Super imposed signal rectification capability, I would recommend using other controllers like LM74810-Q1 or LM74722-Q1 which have higher charge pump source current required for driving FETs with higher Ciss.
