TPS22990: Maximum Ct value

Hi Team,

My customer would like to add 0.047uF on CT pin to control the start-up time around 2ms. Regarding to Table 1 in the datasheet, The Ct value is up to 0.01 uF.

Does it allow them to add Ct value more than 0.01uF? and work correctly?

    Hi Saga-san,

    Yes, the TPS22990 can support a larger Ct than 0.01uF. However, if the slew rate is too slow and the load capacitance is too large, the device can heat up and trigger thermal shutdown. It's recommended that the customer test their Ct/Cload combination on an EVM with large Ct values.
