Even more information.

As soon as the device is connected I get an error "I2C read error. Status = 4294966526"

When I power up the board, the SDA1 (C2) & SCL1 (C1) lines simply go to high. When I connect the UI, I see the following:

and the UI says it is connected:

And when I scan for devices, I see that one is detected:

So everything indicates it is indeed connected.

What do you suggest?

Hello Bulmaro,

it's a bit hard to make out whether the secondary device is making an ACK. Is it possible to probe on the SCL/SDA_I2C1 lines to see if it asks to read/write to the secondary device using a logic analyzer. From the userguide, the secondary device has an I2C address of 0x4C. You are currently connected to the Master PMIC, but not the secondary, that's why on the bottom left hand corner it says it's connected, but not that it's necessarily connected to the secondary PMIC. You should be able to see this PMIC on the Quick Start page of the GUI.

We may be on to something. I suppose it's possible I changed the address of the secondary device to something other than 0x4C.
Using only the existing access to the primary device, can I access the registry for the address of the secondary?
