Hello, I want to ask a question about the current limit of LM5164.
It is said in the data sheet that when the inductor current increases over 1.5A, the chip will turn off the upper MOSFET immediately until the inductor current drops below 1.2A.
However, when I use PSPICE to simulate. I find a condition that the inductor current can increase nearly 1.9A.
The following figure demonstrates the situation. I use a very low inductance so its current ripple is big. The average value of the inductor current is 1A. It can be seen that though the average value (1A) does not exceed the limit, the peak value of the inductor current is larger than 1.5A due to its large ripple.
Does this means the current limit will not work as long as the average value of inductor current is within the limit ?
