LM2676: What is good switching regulator to use for new designs?

Part Number: LM2676

I designed the LM2676 into my prototype, but I see that it was introduced in 1997, so I'm worried about the future availability of the part.

I'm looking for a general purpose part with 3A output, 40V input (36V is worse but acceptable), and low emi.

Whats a more modern option for a general purpose switching regulator?

Thanks!

  • Hi Drew,

Thank for reaching out.  First, I do not see any sign or plan from our product line about obsoleting the LM2676.  Therefore, you can be confident to proceed with your LM2676 design.  On the other hand, our website also recommend some newer product which can cover the application of LM2676.  Let me copy and paste a snapshot of the webpage here for your convenience.  Hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Youhao
