Part Number: LP876242-Q1

Every time , if MCU ESM is triggered, in the PMIC side, GPIO1 can be pull down. but for the reset to MCU(NRSTOUT_SOC), Whether it is configurable by user? Because sometimes i need to enable the reset, sometime i don't need this ? if it can be configured, whether it can be configured in normal operation ?

Hi Jin,

could you read registers 0x1, 0x2 and 0x3? These are the device ID, NVM id and NVM revision numbers. When I know these I can take a look how your device works.

I can't read the register as you mentioned , but i can tell the detail type we choose, it is LP876242B0RQKRQ1.

Hi Jin,

in this configuration nRSTOUT_SOC is not available at any pin. Only nRSTOUT is available at GPIO10.

Maybe you misunderstand me, I mean that whehter i can disable nRSTOUT when GPIO1 is pull down ?

Hi Jin,

When the GPIO1 goes low (ESM_MCU input goes low) the nRSTOUT goes low if the device is not able to clear the interrupt. This procedure is stated in the datasheet section 7.3.9.2 Figure 7-27. This action is not reconfigurable.

If the nRSTOUT can't be configurable, there is a problem to implemement SA_34 in safety manual. if host want to do a fault injection test, host can't readback the state of GPIO1 because host is reseted by PMIC already . do you think so ?

Hi Jin,

the nRSTOUT is set only if the timer(s) run out. When the MCU does the ESM test it

1. Injects the fault (ESM pin goes low)

2. PMIC pulls nINT low to indicate there's an interrupt

3. MCU clears the interrupt

4. If interrupt was cleared successfully, nINT goes high again to indicate no interrupts

5. Test is passed

So when testing the MCU never resets.
