TPS65987D: Question to register setting

Hi,

TPS65987DDH does not handle the USB data in a system. TPS65987DDH only use D+/D- for BC1.2 detection, once detection is finished it the device release the D+/D- line.

I see that you don't have BC1.2 support enabled, do you have D+/D- connected to the device?

no, the D+/D- signals are not connected to the TPS65987DDH (R324 and R325 not mounted). Attached is a page of the schematic showing the TPS65987DDH.

In the project I did not see you enabling USB related settings.

Please search USB in the GUI and set the related settings and test it again.

I have changed the various values for USB. The problem still remains.

I got from a colleague who is back from vacation and has made a similar project with the TPS65981ABI, the hint to pay attention to the values for Dual Role.
Attached is a block diagram that shows the basic structure. Then I have made the project in the Application Customization Tool new and there in the new project not TIDA-050012 Sourc Board but standard selected. Then I chose Dual Role Port (DRP), prefers power soure and set the new values.
Attached are the new values for the setting. Unfortunately this did not fix the problem either.

Upon checking the configuration I see that you did not enable the USB Capable and USB Suspend Supported bit checked.

I have modified the project and please test this out.

So far I have not used the debugger function of TPS65981_2_7_8 Application Customization Tool. Now I wanted to establish the debug connection with an FDTI C232HM-DDHSL-0. To do this, I connected the cables from the FDTI USB adapter to pins 32 and 33 on the TPS65987D.
I also configured the FDTI adapter in the software. But for me no connection is established to the TPS65987D. For example, if I click on "Test I2C Hi Read (Mode Reister 0x03)" I get the following error message (Exception Encountered during I2C Test Read:*** ERROR in FTDI call (I2C_OpenChannel), status: 3 <type 'exceptions.Exception'> ). When I look at the signals on an oscilloscope, they are constantly high.

Can I use the FDTI C232HM-DDHSL-0 adapter for debugging?

I would recommend using an Aardvark + TPS65981_2_7_8 Application Customization Tool here as the FTDI connection can be unreliable sometimes.
