Hi Team,
Can you have a look at the following customer inquiry?
We have been using the power supply IC UCC28600 from TI for many years and in large numbers. Recently we have received complaints that the lighting of our end equipment, which is powered by the IC flickers. From our complaint department I have now 30 power supply units with the described error pattern. After replacing the IC UCC28600 the power supply works perfectly. Our hardware developer could exclude other error causes / other defective components on the power supply. The error pattern (flickering of the drive lighting at room temperature / the colder the more flickering) already occurred during the initial commissioning of end equipment (zero operating hours). Therefore we suspect a pre-damage of the ICs - ESD / temperature / etc.
Our hardware developer now had the idea, whether TI could examine the defective ICs more exactly (x-ray / opening of the housing), in order to get to the bottom of the defect.
Thank you,
Franz
