BQ27530EVM: Query on BSCl and BSDA signal connections

I am referring to BQ27530EVM Schematics only, actually my query was regarding BSCl and BSDA signals of BQ27530

Hi Wyatt Keller,

BSCL and BSDA lines are push pull in BQ27530 but it is connecting to SCL and SDA lines of BQ2416x which is an open drain IO. So, in that case how BQ2416x will drive the line to high state?

Hello Mythili,

Generally with GPIO pins you can set an internal pull-up to allow the device to respond or keep the lines high, which is what should be occurring here. Are you running into issues with the communication between the two parts?

As of now, we are in design phase. While designing we came across with this doubt. Just wanted to make sure whether the SDA(open drain) pin of BQ2416x has internal pull up?
