BQ24650: Solar Panel connection

Hi,

Is there an application note on how to connect two identical solar panels connected in parallel to a single BQ24650?

    Hi Jose, 

    The BQ24650 is a single input devices. Unfortunately, we do not have an application note to connect two panels due to this limitation. Thanks for your understanding.

    Hi Jing,

    Thank you for your reply, so all that remains is to design the circuit from scratch.

    May I ask if there is any problem with having STAT1 and STAT2 with pull-ups at different voltages?

    For example, STAT1 with a pull-up at Vin (after the solar panel diode), and STAT2 with a pull-up at the general Vdd of the circuit (3.0V) that feeds the microprocessor ? ?

    Hi Jose,

    The STAT1 and STAT2 are just open drain outputs. Pulling it to different rail will not affect the operation of the charger. However, If one of the source is not present for the STAT pins pull up, the corresponding STAT pin will not reflect the status. Both of the rail also needs to be below the IC's abs max rating.
