TPS65219: Thermal Shut down configuration

Part Number: TPS65219

Hi, TI

In datasheet, there are some chapter describe about thermal protection.

But I can't find information about how to set it.

Do you have any documents about it?

  • Hi,

Thanks for using E2E! The TPS65219 PMIC integrates temperature sensors to trigger a thermal warning or shutdown based on the temperature level. If the temperature reaches the warning level, PMIC generates an interrupt in the INT registers. However, if the temperature reaches the shutdown level, PMIC executes an immediate shutdown, turning OFF all the rails and transitioning to the Initialize state.

The data sheet capture below shows the temperature parameters. Please let us know if there are any questions.

    Thanks,

    Brenda

  • Dear Breda

Can we modify the theshold level by SW?

  • Hi,

The temperature monitoring threshold cannot be modified but the warning can be masked by writing to the SENSOR_0_WARM_MASK register fields highlighted below.

Just for reference, the table below shows the three TPS65219 variants (pin to pin compatible) along with the corresponding package and temperature rating. Let us know if there are any questions.

    Thanks,

    Brenda
