TPS7H5005-SEP: Simulation errors

Part Number: TPS7H5005-SEP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PSPICE-FOR-TI

Hello, I have been trying to execute a simulation for TPS7H5005-SEP, however I am consistently getting an error regarding imported models with the simulation that was given through the website. There was modification of the values of the transformer itself, but that was all. The error states "Detected an imported model containing transistors or diodes. The program then aborts and does not allow me to run the simulation further.

  • Hi Jarrett,

There are a few unrelated reasons this could occur and I need a little more context to clarify which one is the main culprit. Could you answer a few additional questions:

    1. Did the model run without issue before any changes were made?

    2. Are you downloading the model from the TPS7H5005-SEP webpage and using PSpice-for-TI to open the project or opening the test schematic directly via the built-in library?

    3. How long ago did you download PSpice-for-TI?

    Thanks,

    Sarah

  • Hello Sarah,

    1. I did have issues. But I was able to mitigate the issues by placing a placing a certain amount of test points. Max 3 and min 1 into the schematic.

    2. I did download the model for TPS7H5005-SEP directly from webpage. I then used the downloaded model in PSPICE.

    3. I downloaded the model approximately a week ago.

    Thank you,

    Jarrett

  • Hey Jarrett,

Thanks for confirming. I was able to recreate your issue. This setup and usage shouldn't produce the error you're getting, so I'm going to check that it was properly added into the internal library. If there was an error when it was added into the built-in library, then PSpice-for-TI might not be able to recognize it as a TI model - hence the error message.

I'll update you here in about 2 days once I'm able to determine whether this is the case.

    Thanks,

    Sarah

  • Hi Jarrett,

I just refreshed the model files for the built-in library. It may take a day to two for the internal servers to update, but then after that we should be able to see if this fix resolved the problem.

    Thanks,

    Sarah

  • Thanks Sarah. I was a bit busy with other tasks. But I will give this model another try, I appreciate the assistance.

  • Hey Jarrett,

No worries at all. Once you do get some time to return to this and give it another shot, let me know if everything also seems to be resolved on your end or whether there still seems to be issues and we can pick it up again as needed. Always happy to help!

    All the best,

    Sarah
