Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM51231-Q1
Hi team,
Is it possible to replace LM5123 into LM51231-Q1? If yes, is there any required technical dealing?
Best Regards,
Shoji

Hello Shoji,
Thanks for reaching out to us via e2e.
The LM51231 is NOT just a newer version of the LM5123.
It has a different feature set.
So, it depends on your application which part fits better.
The LM5123 is a low quiescent current device while the LM51231 has been modified for Class-H Audio amplifiers.

Harry
Hi Harry,
Okay, I'll explain the situation. So, could you move this thread to the internal forum if you want to know more specific requirements? The customer has started the design with LM51231-Q1, so in this phase, they don't want to consider other device. So, I'd like to quickly check if LM51231-Q1 will work on this EVM because there is not LM51231-Q1 EVM.
But for the next future step, I'd like to know the differences between them. In my understandings, LM5123 is focused on its low I_q, and LM51231 is focused on thermal or efficiency because it has bypass mode. Is this correct?
Best Regards,
Shoji
Hello Shoji,
The LM5123 is the Low-IQ device whereas the LM51231 has changes that were made especially for Class-H audio amplifier applications.
I have sent you a presentation via email.
Best regards
Harry
