Find the power IC

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS25940-Q1, LM74502H-Q1, LM63460-Q1, LM51551-Q1, LM5157-Q1

Please help to recommend suitable applycation IC

Design concept

VIN is Type C Connector when plus in pass though efuse into USB_VBUS pin comuiate with CPU.

Then CPU Will notify Type C Which Voltage 5,9,12V need to be supplies as input.

1. The Efuse need wide range Vin , if could auto set OCP when difference input is better.

2. The DC-DC(Buck) need wide range Vin could cover minmux on time & hight SW Rating ,ROVP (reverse voltage protection).

3. The BOOST need low IQ, the vin will 1V~3V

  • Hi Liao, can you confirm if you are looking for automotive Q1 devices? Thanks!

  • Hi Darwin

    Long time no see!Eyes

Yes , The message is for autimotive ,but not sure which Q is.

    It's RFQ Study Stage.

  • Judy! Yes it nice to talk to you again! I hope you're doing well!

Thanks for clarifying! For automotive applications, I can recommend automotive parts. For TI the part numbers ends with -Q1.

    1) Efuse: TPS25940-Q1. This is adjustable with RLIM resistor.

    2) WV Buck: Unfortunately we don't have a reverse voltage protection on the buck converter ICs however, you can pair it with a reverse protection IC like LM74502H-Q1 which you can put in the front end of the buck. Can you confirm ROVP is for reverse voltage? I know we had a feature in the past called ROVP but it was for redundant overvoltage protection of the output. For the Buck specs, i recommend a new device LM63460-Q1.

    3) For a 3A output, the peak current will be large ~7A. If your 2.7V input is well regulated then I recommend LM5157-Q1; if not, you might consider an external FET solution like LM51551-Q1.

Let me know if this helps! Thanks Judy!
