LM5036: On/Off control

Part Number: LM5036

Hi team we are considering making a project using lm5036.
But we have a question about one thing.

How can we perform the on/off operation safely via an external mosfet?

also UNVLO, OVP, OTP and CBC protections must also be functioning properly.

what are you suggestions?

Thanks.

  • Hi,

UVLO, OTP and CBC are non-configurable protection functions. OVP and ON_OFF are configurable and can be set up as either latching or non-latching response to faults arising from OVP OCP, OTP, as described by section 7.3.17 in the LM5036 data sheet. From your description, I assume you want to set up the ON_OFF as latching and then be able to reset the latch using a MOSFET?

The latch is reset when UVLO<1.25V, which means you can connect an N-ch, logic-level, signal MOSFET (2N7002) drain to UVLO and use whatever control signal you choose to reset he latch by apply 5V to the MOSFET gate.

    Regards,

    Steve
