Hello TI Team,

We are trying to use Voltage REF IC for our application with requirement of noise <4uVpp, temperature coefficient 5pp/deg C.

let us know if we can use REF102BU.

Please clarify the following:

1. The noise in electrical parameter is 5uVpp, whereas from graph it is <4uVpp (Page 5).. Can we take it for <4uVpp?

2. If this part can be used for new design?

Hi Ajeet,

If you are looking for a noise requirement of <4µVpp and a temperature coefficient of less than 5ppm/°C, I would suggest the REF70 instead of the REF102. According to the REF70 datasheet, it will stay below 4µVpp noise, and the temperature coefficient is lower than the REF102 over a wider operating temperature range.

Thank you for your reply. However, my voltage reference requirement is 10V output.

The suggested part REF70 is up to 5V output.

Hi Ajeet,

Since noise is a random event, the noise for the REF102 will be centered around 5µVpp, which is the mean.

I would suggest using a device other than the REF102 because the REF102 is an old device.

Are you using the 10V reference voltage for calibration purposes? What is the application?

Hi Jackson,

10V voltage reference is used for DAC REF for current output.

If REF102 is old device, can you suggest any other device from Texas instrument portfolio other than REF5010ID (since it has also noise graph mismatch from the electrical parameter data).

The constraint is: noise<=4uVpp, Temperature coefficient <= 5ppm/deg C, Tolerance = 0.05%.

Also, yes noise requirement is 4uVpp and not 4uVpp/V.
