TPS546D24A: VDD5 Pin Current Draw

Hello,

As the input voltage is 3.3 V±10%, I'm considering putting a boost converter to externally supply TPS546D24A's VDD5 pin voltage apart from its AVIN and PVIN pins. Could you provide me with the information on how much current the VDD5 draws in this configuration for the right boost converter choices?

Hi Shinichi,

The short circuit current is listed as 100mA. So, you could design the maximum current spec on this.

I think a realistic approximation for VDD5 operating current would be around 10mA based on the datasheet table below.

Is it possible to get more accurate Max VDD5 current value by looking into qualification data or asking the designer?

"The typical current consumption for external VDD5 source is 12.5mA + 1mA / 100kHz Fsw

The maximum current consumption is 17mA + 1mA / 100kHz Fsw"
