BQ79616: Using BQ79616 without balancing

Hello,

If I am using the BQ79616 without balancing for monitoring only, can I leave the balance pins floating or tie them to the VC pins? Or should I just add a capacitor ladder to them from VBAT to GND?

Anand,

If you connect the CB pins to the batteries, they will not cell balance on their own. They will only begin balancing if the MCU sends a certain command. So, you can connect the CB pins normally and get the functionality you want. Additionally, the CB pins are used for redundant ADC measurement, so it is a good idea to connect them.

Ah the redundant ADC, forgot about him. Thank you, I will add things as the schematic shows normally then.
