BQ24232HA: Quiescent current very high

Hello, I have designed a custom board using BQ24232HARGTT. When the board is switched off, the battery has a consumption of aroud 600uA. May you tell me where may be the problem?

I have tried to remove all the resistors and cut-off the out signal but the current remains. If I remove the BQ2432 the current finally drops to 2uA.

This is the design (pgood and chg signals are directly connected to a uC, viset route is cut on the board hence it should not affect):

please, let me know any aspect to consider because we need to send the board for production as soon as possible.

Hi Andres,

Is this consistent on all ICs that you've tested on this board?

If you have a BQ24232EVM available, can you measure the IC on this board?

Hi Anthony, unfortunately I do not have a BQ24232EVM.

I have several units of my board and after testing them, some of them give me around 30uA and others between 600-800 uA. May be a mounting or layout issue? All this situation is caused when the board is switched off, what means that the output of the BQ is isolated from the rest of the board circuit by a switch.

Hi Andres,

Since you have multiple boards, the EVM is not needed. Can you try taking a board where you are measuring 30 uA and replace the IC with an IC from a board that is measuring 600-800 uA?
