BQ4050: CHG out of control at high temperature

Part Number: BQ4050

Hi team,

During the high-temperature reliability test (70°C), the customer turned off both CHG and DSG of the battery pack. After a period of time, the charging MOS (chg) suddenly opened, and the charging MOS remained open.

Could you please help me figure it out?

  • Hi Nan,

If FET_EN is set, the CHG and DSG FET will be driven autonomously. The gauge has a feature body diode protection which will turn ON the FETs when the sense current is greater than the body diode threshold to prevent the body diode from heating and blowing up.

If the above is not the case, please provide a log file and configurations.
