TPS2663: TPS26630 output capacitor 28V application

Hi,

I have question about TPS26630 output capacitor quetsion for 28V application.

As datasheet 10.2.2.3 Output Buffer Capacitor – COUT, If I use my conditon Vin=5V~28V, UV=4.06V, P(DC-DC) = 140W.

It needs 13mF output capacitor? Seems too big, anything wrong for my calculate?

I saw the EVM choose 1mF. it may reduce to smaller capacitor? Any impact if I choose smaller output capacitor?

    Hi Jeff,

    This equation tells during certain power interruption time how much minimum cap you need to support DC-DC. If we lower the cap then time to support DC-DC will reduce during power interruption. Do you have a requirement of certain time to support DC-DC?
