LM76005-Q1: Could it support the ISO16750-2 test item 4.6.1 for 12V system?

Part Number: LM76005-Q1

Hi Sir,

My customer is asking some questions about LM76005-Q1.

He would like to use the design condition V-in = 4.5~60V (normal case is 9~36V), V-out = 4.2V, I-out = 5A.

Since the webench tool could not simulate this design condition. May I know if the design condition is OK?

In the worst case, when the V-in drops to 4.5V about 100ms(same as the 12V system on the test item 4.6.1 of ISO16750-2 standard), may I know if the system keeps working normally? ( V-out = 4.2V and I-out = 5A)

  • Hi Henry,

If EN is directly tied to Vin the part will operate in dropout and Vout will be lower that 4.2V. If there is a resistor divider between EN and Vin the part will stop operating.

In both scenarios the part will continue to operate normally once the Vin goes back to 9V.

    Regards,

    Rahil
