Hello,
We tried using the TPS65132S device in a backlight application, but it was never able to turn on. Our needs are +90mA @ 5.2V, -40mA @ -5.2V.
The S device has plenty of current capability, but start-up limitations or the "slow" turn on behavior seems to be causing an issue.
Could you please help us decipher the datasheet?
- Is the start up current limited to 1/4 max output power for all devices in the family?
- The datasheet seems to indicate the TPS65132S can support -150mA and +200mA (LDO limitation). Is this the correct way to look at device limitations?
- The datasheet describes the "typical ramp-up times are slowed down by a factor of 4" by simply limiting the current.
- Does only the Ax ad Bx have higher startup current? -50mA for -40mA supply and 100mA for 80mA supply is called out in the datasheet (snippet below)
Would you agree our only option is the TPS65132Ax and TPS65132Bx (except the B2 case)?
Thank you, Keith
