TPS2121: ST output

Part Number: TPS2121

Hi,

The ST pin is defined in datasheet as in followign screenshot:

I am not so sure about the last line, when both IN1 and IN2 are invalid. In case both IN1 and IN2 are lower then UV (say, 1.3V), how could ST output maintain logic high? Is ST actually need an external pull up power source or something?

And, what is the high level threshold of ST? it seems left not mention in datasheet.

Thank you.

/Roland

  • Hi /Roland,

Yes, the ST pin is open-drain and needs to be connected to a pullup resistor. Thus, the ST pin itself is Hi-Z, but the signal on the pin is high. Please see the picture below from the Recommended Operating Conditions.

The max recommended voltage on ST is 5.5V, and the high level threshold of ST is whatever voltage it is connected to.

    Thanks,

    Patrick
