Hi expert,
In option 2, why is it necessary to connect a diode in parallel and what is the function of this diode?

Hi Link,
The diode is used to reduce the voltage shift between IC_GND and module GND during normal operation.
Without this diode, the voltage shift in normal operation due to just the GND resistance will be larger.
Therefore it is necessary to connect both a resistor and a diode in parallel for the GND network.
Thanks,

Hi expert,
I understand what a diode does, so why do I need a resistor in parallel? Is it ok if I only use one diode?
Best Regards,
Link
Hi Link,
The resistor is necessary to maintain acceptable GND voltage and connection to GND during the inductive turn off event and during reverse battery.
Both the resistor and diode need to be used for the GND network.
Thanks,
