BQ24074 Charging IC

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24075, BQ24074

hi

i am using BQ24075 charging ic but its output is not regulated,

i am thinking to switch to bq24074 which has the regulated output that is 4.4 volt

i need to ask if any one has used this bq24074 with its fixed regulated output please let me know

i have to have 4 .4 volt fixed at out put of this bq2407X series but i am unable to do this

thank you

  •  This product family has been used successfully by many customers in many projects, so we are confident the IC works as intended.  You might consider getting an EVM to evaluate performance to compare to the datahseet waveforms.  You can then determine if it meets your needs.  TI has many products that can take a variable input voltage and regulate it to a fixed 4.4V output.  I would also like to suggest that you contact your local distributor to assist with component selection.  The output voltage is dependent on many variables.  For example, if your battery voltage is 3.6V and your input voltage is 4.2V, you can not maintain a 4.4V output.  When the datasheet states that the output voltage is regulated to 4.4V, it means that if the input voltage goes above 4.4V, the bq2407x keeps the output voltage at 4.4V.

  • hi

i just need to confirm that does this BQ24074 maintains regulated 4.4 volt at output , if the input is 5 volts or more.

as per datasheet the BQ24054 provides regulated output of 4.4 volts in case the input voltage is 5 volt

    please help

    thank you

  • Yes, the bq24074 OUT voltage will be regulated to 4.4V when the input voltage is 5V or higher.
