My customer asked a question about LDO overshoot and undershoot.

Can you help explain how overshoot and undershoot are calculated? The customer is using TPS74601-Q1.

    Hello Xiaoxiang, 

    Are they asking how to predict the undershoot and overshoot? Please see Understanding the load transient of an LDO

    Undershoot and Overshoot is the amount of deviation VOUT experiences during a transient. You minimize these with combinations of capacitors on your input and output. 

    You can model using PSPICE or looking on the datasheet and modifying your capacitor values based on the transients and capacitor values we have depicted in the figures section.
