TPS50601A-SP: Representation of theta JC - Leads or No Leads

Am I correct in assuming the theta JC already includes contribution from the leads? The package I’m ordering has Gull wings not thru hole pins as page 4 indicates in the link shown. Would it be most representative in an FEA to include a block with the theta JC with leads or is there no need to represent leads?

Hey Giselle,

The leads are included in the thermal analysis.
The thermal analysis has the leads of our non-trimmed and formed devices going down and attaching to the board for the analysis.

If you are doing an FEA using our JC as listed in the datasheet, it may not be needed to include the leads.
The leads are assume to already be a part of the JC number.
