LMR54410: Minimum peak inductor current to enter PFM mode

From section 8.4.4 of the datasheet, "When either the minimum high-side switch ON time tON_MIN or the minimum peak inductor current IPEAK_MIN (300 mA typical) is reached, the switching frequency decreases to maintain regulation."

I can't find any other reference to IPEAK_MIN in the datasheet. Is there a specified min and max value of IPEAK_MIN?

Also during PFM mode, does the switching frequency decrease such that the converter is switching continuously at a frequency lower than 1.1MHz or is it entering a pulse skipping mode?

Hi Haras,

Sorry for the confusion.

The 300mA does seem correct. I see the min and max for a set of test data being 0.208 and 0.266, respectfully.

I am going to see if we can get the EC spec added in.

Here is an article which describes in detail this mode. It is applicable to this device even though the part number isn't explicitly mentioned.

Hi Marshall,

The article you shared links to a "frequency predictor tool" for the LMR33620/30 and LMR36006/15. Is there a similar tool for the LMR54410?
