BQ25792: Support 0V charging?

We are using TPS25750 + BQ25792 with 2cell battery(bq40z50).

This 2cell battery's output voltage will be zero when it is over discharged because of its inner protect IC(bq40z50). This battery supports 0V charging, it will be recovered from 6V+ charging voltage.

So my question is does TPS25750 + BQ25792 support 6V+ charging voltage to recover the 0V battery?

0V battery means the BAT1 & BAT2 pin of bq25792 is 0V when no charging.

Hi Walker,

The charger will attempt to trickle charge at 100mA and raise the battery voltage to 2.5V. If no battery or the pack protector is fully closed with no path for the 100mA, the BAT pin and then the SYS pin may hit overvoltage briefly, which causes the dc/dc converter to shutdown. I recommend replacing BQ25792 with the pin to pin and register to register BQ25798 which does not have the OVP issue.

We need to support USB PD, so that's why we choose TPS25750 + BQ25792.

I can't find the BQ25798 configuration in TPS25750 Application Customization Tool.

Hi Walker,

BQ25798 has the same registers as BQ25792.

You mean same register and iic slave address?

So we use the same eeprom bin which is generated by TPS25750 Application Customization Tool with BQ25792 selected can work on TPS25750 + BQ25798?
