Hello,

Any buck converter should be able to be configured for negative output voltage.

Please refer to the app note (SNVA856) for the design flow of this IBB application.

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. The problem with your answer is the word "should". This much I knew. But I hate to implement this inverting function on a PCB without someone from TI letting me know that it "can" be used that way. Do you know for certain that it will work?

Hello Bela,

It can be used this way. TI has several inverting app note that detail the buck to IBB conversion process using different buck converters ICs before:

There is no reason why this DC/DC buck converter can't be configured for inverting output as well.
