Hi
I have some concern in the design of BQ24092.
The situation is if any unknown damage caused on the charger IC, is there any protection scheme on that to protect the battery under dangerous charging state?

Hi Johanne,
I am not sure I understand your question correctly. But the bq24092 has many protection features listed on the 1st page in the datasheet shut thermal shutdown, over voltage protection and short circuit protection.
Thanks!
Tahar
Hi Tahar:
We have already a product shipping out for retail market.
However customer would be concern if any problem would be caused of BQ2409x defecting (like ESD or somehow) .
Can a defect IC would be caused a dangerous charge state?
thanks
Johanne
There should be no issue if you application is similar to the ones in the data sheet. TI (benchmarq) is the leader in charger technology and have used the same "algorithms" in 100's of millions of ICs. The capacitance added to the external pins is enough to safegard against any ESD strikes.
