REF3312: Used as current source, minimum allowed Vinmin?

Part Number: REF3312

Hello,

I am using REF3312 in current source configuration, connecting a resistor between OUT&GND pins (using GND pin floating). I have configured the scheme as follows:

- Rbetween OUT&GND=249ohm --> Iout=5mA

- Vin to +5V

I want to know which is the maximum load I can source this way.

If I have a 660R load:

Vout=Isource*Rload =5mA^*660ohm=3,3V

V_pinIN=Vout+Vdropout=3,3V+0,2V=3,5V

In datasheet it is stated that minimun Vin (between Vin pin and GND pin) to work is 1,7V; does it apply in this 'current source' situation? I mean, in my example Vin voltage would be: 5V-3,5V=1,5V. Wouldn't ot work? It is better to limit maximu load to 620ohm?.
