LM63610-Q1: Consult about Isd data and short to Vbat test

Part Number: LM63610-Q1

Hello expert,

    1. From the datasheet I only get the Isd data when Vin=13V,pls provide the data when Vin=20V(considerTJ=125C or 150C) also. Thank you!

    2. Can this device withstand output shorted to input test(Vin and Vo see below picture)? What will happened? Could you provide the test report?

  • Hi Zhiyaun,

Please find my answers to your questions below:

1: The device is released and the Electrical Characteristics table and limits are final. If you would like test a value for your application, please order an EVM and measure it on the bench: https://www.ti.com/tool/LM63615QDRREVM

The device on this EVM is a different orderable part number, but it will correctly reflect the behavior of the LM63610-Q1.

2: The device can withstand Vin to Vout short. The inductor limits the peak current. However, it is recommended to evaluate on your application board. Also, in the case that Vout rises above Vin, it is advised to have a schottky diode between Vout and Vin.

    Best regards,

    Ridge Lahti

  • Hello expert

For question 2,when Vin>6V and short to Vo, FB will high than 1.2x regulation point, according to datasheet there will be no switching, so the inductor will not hit the current limit, am I right?

And then what happened if Vin<6V?

  • Hi Zhiyuan,

For the given condition of Vin to Vout short, the feedback can be damaged depending on the input and output voltage configuration.

    Best regards,

    Ridge
